On Friday 16 September 2016 our class went to grab some typical English breakfast at a lovely little cafe not far from the U2 station Krieau. We ate some really delicious meals which are normally eaten in England (pancakes, “Royal Breakfast”, baked beans, …). To be honest, I think none of my classmates were expecting the food to taste so amazing because Britain isn’t necessarily known for its cuisine. :-) We also talked to each other to get to know everyone better… in English, of course! If my classmates weren’t as amazed by the whole atmosphere as I was, they were happy to miss some lessons… ;-)
When we got
there we all sat down at a big table. The cafe was really
nice and I felt as if I was in Britain. It was very cosy because of the
furniture (armchairs, etc.). The menu was perfect for me because I wanted to
order everything and I took very long to decide what I actually wanted. After
eating we asked each other entertaining questions from a sheet that Prof.
Schörkhuber had given us, such as “What’s something you’ve always
wanted to do but have never done?”, “What’s the most profound act of kindness
that you’ll never forget?”, “If you could be a fly on the wall, what would you
do?”, and “What’s your favourite childhood memory?” I really liked the excursion and I’ll return to the cafe
with my family as soon as possible. Hopefully we’ll have many other interesting
field trips like this one.
